Freestanding Enclosures

The lifecycle of a typical industrial enclosure is filled with planned and unplanned modifications and repairs, so using a unibody enclosure can increase costs and downtime. The new Rittal SE 8 freestanding enclosures, more durable and versatile than unibody enclosures, combine the benefits of modular design and accessories with a competitive price point. In addition, the SE 8 is available in 16-gauge carbon or stainless steel, and features the standard, reversible TS 8 door to accommodate modifications over the lifecycle of the enclosure.

Unlike bayed enclosure suites with frames and removable side panels, the body of the SE 8, consisting of two side panels and a roof, is made from one piece of sheet steel. The rear panel of the enclosure is screwed on for easy access, and cable entry can be handled in a variety of ways using the integrated base frame. Rittal’s TS frame is integrated into the body, and the SE 8 accepts all standard TS 8 accessories, including chassis, mounting panels, handles, fan and filter units, and cable-handling options. The SE 8 door and rear wall are electrically bonded to the enclosure using a patented hardware system that requires no separate ground straps. The two mounting levels integrated into the enclosure provide more room for options, making better use of space while reducing installation time. Units are available as one and two door versions.

Rittal SE 8 freestanding enclosures have an integrated roll-formed body section, allowing for the utilization of lighter enclosure materials, making required modifications quicker, reducing tool wear, and producing a lighter, safer system that will cost less to ship. The strength and interior mounting is handled by the roll-formed frame section, so the SE 8 delivers improved durability and 30% more space than comparable unibody designs.
